BRING YOUR DREAMS TO LIFE
Whether you are an actor, artist, baker, chef, coder, dancer, graphic designer, maker, musician, videographer, problem solver, change-maker, or anyone else who defines themselves by their desire to create, you are welcome here. We are excited to provide you with a home to hone your craft, practice your trade, perform for audiences large & small, teach others, and sell your wares locally and beyond.
If you need a 250+ seat theatre & performance venue with recording/live stream capabilities to share your dance studio’s latest performance, a commercial kitchen to launch your cottage food based business or food truck, a retail/office space with direct access to Washington Street, a place to teach a class to the community or meet-up with your quilting club, a sound booth to launch a podcast, or a connection to another local group or individual who can help you in your creative endeavor, we’re here to set the stage for your success.
We are the Masonic Arts, Theatre & Innovation Company, better known as MÄTI (Mah*tee). Based in the historic Masonic Square Mall in downtown Marquette, our goal is to acquire the building and turn it into a regional creative, collaborative hub that provides the creative community with a place to share their vision with the public and promote innovation through all art mediums.

Our Patronicity campaign is a success! We got our $17,500 matched by the MEDC to end up with $35,000
Thank you for your generous donations that helped us to reach our fundraising goals so that we are able to update our mobile drive-in setup. Our proof of concept last year showed us that this is something our community desires and you definitely proved it for us! With these funds, we are able to purchase the projector we were using from the UP Masonic Association, Purchase a bigger, brighter, and weatherproof screen and frame that will allow us to hold shows not only in varying conditions but more around the year as we don’t need it completely dark out. Most importantly, the funds will also be used to purchase the film rights and reduce the costs to attend for everyone in our community.
The Masonic Association of Marquette is proud to be the recipient of a $49,800 Michigan Department of Agriculture Value Added & Regional Food Systems grant to expand equipment offerings for local food entrepreneurs over the next three years. The Masonic Building will use the funds for: Upgrading and expanding our kitchen equipment selection. Providing increased cold and lockable dry storage space. Adding freezer carts or trikes that allow members to sell their cold products directly to consumers during summer months. Add a remote-access entryway and tracking system to our facilities that will allow for member access 24 hours a day 7 days a week. We are thrilled that our partner organization is helping us bring our innovation dreams to fruition and excited to serve our community of food entrepreneurs more. Read our full press release here!
MÄTI is eligible for a matching grant from the Public Spaces Community Places, a program of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. Our Goal: To bring drive-in movies to areas around the Central Upper Penninsula by upgrading our drive-in movie equipment to be weather-proof and mobile. We’ll be able to create movie screenings or art installations anywhere with only a few hours of installation. But only if we hit our $17,500 goal by August 9th! Visit our Patronicity campaign below and consider donating. Or, use our Social Sharing Kit to download images and copy sample text for a social media post to spread the word!
